Mom fell today and ended up in ER. X-ray to hip came back negative, which is truly a blessing. However, she is still unable to bear weight on the side that she fell on. It just continues to remind me how fragile our bodies become with age and how we must cherish our loved ones each and everyday....
I'm sorry! Glad she didn't break her hip though.
ReplyDelete@ Alex. Thanks. She still can't bear weight on it which bothers me. But, we'll see.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm so sorry your mother fell and is injured. Thank God she didn't break any bones. If she can't bear weight on it yet, she must have injured muscles or ligaments or have some kind of soft tissue injury, so I hope that heals up soon. What a way to spend Christmas. You're so right about how our bodies become more fragile the older we get and we need to remember to cherish the time we have together, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn. I was excited when I saw her up walking on her own a while ago! She was limping and only took a few steps but that was a start...
ReplyDeleteGlad you mom was ok. Mine fell last March and broke her femur so I know what you mean. It's been a long uphill struggle ever since. The elderly don't mend easily. Some things will never be the same.
ReplyDeleteDenise! I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Life does become fragile and we forget our parents aren't as spry as when we were young. Good thing your mom has a nurse for a daughter.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder! And prayers to your mom!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your mum - best wishes to both of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you all. I know that each of you have either gone through something similar or something that makes it easy for you to relate. Your comments mean a lot!
